TEA has released an updated Data Elements, Sources, and Timelines guide this week. This document is a very helpful resource when trying to understand when data is updated on the Summary of Finance, as well as where data is being pulled from. This replaces the previous pre-HB2 version and includes several changes:
- New HB 2 Allotments: Several new funding streams have been added, including the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA), the Support Staff Retention Allotment (SSRA), the Special Education Full Individual and Initial Evaluation (FIIE) Allotment, and the Allotment for Basic Costs (ABC).
- Six-Week Attendance Reporting: The guide addresses the previously announced changes to a more frequent update cycle for student counts in the Summary of Finance. For 2025-26, student counts from the current year will impact cash flows beginning in May, as opposed to near final settle-up in September. You can read more in this TAA.
TEA also provided clarification that ADSY funding would be based on prior year until it receives actual ADSY data on the PEIMS extended year submission 4.
