The 40th Annual Texas Assessment Conference is almost here! Prepare to explore innovative ideas, network with education professionals, and gain the latest knowledge in assessment, testing, and accountability. To help you better prepare, below is some helpful information related to the event.

HOTEL
Check-in/Out Time: Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out is 11:00 am. Guests will be automatically checked out of their room at 11 am, and wristbands will be deactivated, preventing re-entry. A copy of your room folio will be emailed to you shortly after checkout.
 
Payment: The Kalahari is a cashless property, accepting credit cards and mobile payments (Apple/Google Pay) only. If you arrive with only cash, kiosks are available to exchange it for a Mastercard, which can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
 
All hotel guests must provide a $200 authorization hold to cover potential incidental charges. Each room is equipped with a mini-bar containing four bottles of water and a selection of snacks, all available for an additional fee.
 
Luggage: Complimentary luggage storage is no longer available at the hotel. Please plan to store your luggage in your vehicle on the morning of your departure, prior to the start of sessions, and ensure that no valuables are left in plain sight.

Sponsor Demonstration Fair: Arrive early on Monday to avoid the crowds! Stop by the Exhibitor Registration Desk to pick up your name badge, then take some time between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to visit our sponsors and explore their demos from 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Descriptions and locations.
 
Attire: Business casual. The convention center’s temperatures vary, so you may wish to bring a light jacket or sweater to the sessions.
 
Tuesday’s Social Hour on the Lawn – Theme: Denim & Diamond - Casual denim with touch of sparkle. 
 
Parking: Free self-parking lots are available at the Resort and near the Convention Center.
 
Onsite Dining Options: Outside of the meals provided within the agenda, the Kalahari hosts a number of other restaurants and outlets for use throughout the event.
 
As a courtesy to our group, Cinco Niños and Sortino’s Italian Kitchen will be open during lunch hours with a limited menu available. Reservations may be made by contacting Kelbie Ancira, Private Dining Rooms Manager, at kancira@kalahariresorts.com.
 
Also operating during lunch hours is Sortino’s Pizzeria, BLUX, and MAC’s. A full list of onsite restaurants and options can be found here.
